\nI got my copy of Snoopy Loves to Doodle<\/strong><\/a>, which is good because my Hallmark doesn’t have that Great Pumpkin <\/a>book in yet, and my Wendy’s doesn’t have the new Kids Meal book<\/a> in yet, so I’ve got that itchy Peanuts-books-are-on-their-way feeling, and I needed something to scratch it.<\/p>\n

But on the other hand, it’s not so good because, well, this is really a drawing\/activity book, which is a kind of book that I occasionally accumulate, but do not actively collect. I was hoping it might be something more, but no; every page has a piece of Peanuts art and suggestions of what you might add to it. “Snoopy rides his motorcycle through the city streets. Draw a skyline behind him.” “Will Snoopy use a raft or a bridge to rescue Woodstock? You decide!” And the classic musical question, “Who are driving the other Zambonis?”<\/p>\n

So basically it’s a 64 page coloring book, only it’s published in higher-priced book form… which not only means a higher price ($7.95; you can get similar-length coloring books for a quarter of that or less) but also a stiffer cover and smooth white paper, neither of which are ideal for coloring (crayons take nicely to rough paper, and you really want a book that is easy to get to lay flat.)<\/p>\n
