And walking around the streets, I see that many folks are getting very Peanutsy in their decorations. I saw one house which at first I thought &#8220;hey, there&#8217;s Snoopy on the roof of his doghouse&#8221;, but then I realized it was something nicely odd:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B004B4JXJU\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Snoopy sno-cone maker\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/31pBOWq61ML._SL219_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"219\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, that&#8217;s right, it&#8217;s a giant inflatable <a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B0021VIDOQ\">Snoopy Sno-cone Machine<\/a>! That&#8217;s&#8230; well, that&#8217;s some level of bizarre, but a <em>fun<\/em> level of bizarre.<\/p>\n<p>(By the way, if you click the photo you can order one from Amazon, but I&#8217;d feel guilty if I didn&#8217;t point out that while Amazon usually has quite good prices &#8211; and yes, kicks me back a cut &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/stores.holidayinflatablestore.com\/-strse-1924\/6ft-Airblown-Inflatable-Snoopy\/Detail.bok\"> these guys<\/a> have it at about half of Amazon&#8217;s price.)<\/p>\n<p>Closer to home, the guy just down the street has his window filled with the <a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B002NG0W0M\">Peanuts Nativity Scene<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B002NG0W0M\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Peanuts nativity\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51gF4V8pW0L._SL400_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have to admit that with the Holy Baby Woodstock, the Virgin Lucy, and Snoopy the non-German shepherd, this set leaves me feeling that there is a lot I don&#8217;t know about both theology and Peanuts.<\/p>\n<p>Hey, looking through other Peanuts nativity items, I see a huge 88% discount on <a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B002FKKCEM\">this wooden Peanuts nativity item<\/a> &#8211; which retains the symbology, although at least presents it as a Christmas pageant. Also using the pageant explanation is<a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B002Z6GK38\"> this set of mini-figures with stage<\/a> (which is also listed at a steep discount but in this case the original price seems inflated.) For about the same price you get <a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?B0037SGFFQ\">this set of fewer but larger figures<\/a>, including Snoopy as a sheep.<\/p>\n<p>Although I have to admit, as much as the Peanuts nativity scene may bemuse me, I&#8217;m more befuddled by all the manger tableaus around here that have reindeer in Bethlehem&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Peanuts\" href=\"http:\/\/comics.com\/peanuts\/1967-12-18\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/c0389161.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com\/dyn\/str_strip\/243875.full.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Peanuts\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, now that we&#8217;re all done celebrating Beethoven&#8217;s birthday, it&#8217;s time to start preparing for the next major holiday, which is Christmas.
