And now that TV has announced The Peanuts Collection<\/strong> to the world, I’ll head back into telling the AAUGH Blog gang what they’ll find in the book. Now, where was I?<\/p>\n

Ah, yes, the next spread up is “Taking to the Stage”, looking at theatrical Peanuts. Tipped into this spread is a reduced version of the souvenir book for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown<\/em>, recently discussed on this blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following that, it’s “Peanuts in Space”, and of all my text pieces in this, this is the one I’m proudest of. It’s got a nice bounce to it. And it has its own removable items – Snoopy space stickers! Peppermint Patty earns a spread all to herself,, with illustrations of her in drawn, animated, ornament, statue, and toy form. My favorite visual on these pages is an unfinished Peanuts strip – totally lettered, one panel drawn in pencil, another drawn in ink. Closing out today’s browse is a spread on Peanuts and sports, ranging from the many appearances of sports in the strip to the appearance of Peanuts characters in real-life sports, from the Woodstock Open to the sponsored race cars.\u00a0 And on these pages, along with the Schulz-drawn covers for a couple Sebastapol Little League programs, is another removable gifty – half a dozen Peanuts character baseball cards, reproductions of ones that you used to be able to get in packages of Dolly Madison snack cakes.<\/p>\n
