Friend of the blog Jeff alerted us to the fact that the Dallas Morning News has reported a list of books banned in the Texas prison system, and on that list is none other than The Peanuts Collection, the book on Peanuts history written by none other than the AAUGH Blogger himself! Now, this is not my first dance with censorship; a man was once arrested for selling a comic book I’d written. But you’d have to go all the way down the list of salacious reasons why books get banned from prison before hitting on the one that is almost certainly the one that applies here: it’s well-designed for hiding contraband. The book has various pockets that can store, say, a reproduction Peanuts animation cel… or a razor blade shiv, or a packet of black tar.  No wonder the book was so popular!
