About the AAUGH.com Peanuts book collector guide
There have been hundreds of different Peanuts and Peanuts-related books issued since 1952.
This list is an attempt to list all of the books released in the U.S. and English-language
books released elsewhere, with some notes on non-English foreign editions. You'll also find some articles for
the Peaunts fan. The collector's guide divides the list into pages based around what type
of book each is. In some case, this division is a judgment call. If you have a book that's
not on the list that you'd like to tell me about, please see the Frequently
Asked Questions list for information about how to contact me and what information I'll
need. Please note: at this point, I am not tracking coloring books, activity books, or greeting
cards (including multipage greeting cards.)
Do not email me asking how much your books are worth. I do not believe in
setting collectible values.
Pages of this site:
- Primary strip collection grid: This is the handiest page on this
site. It organizes all of the sequential strip reprint series (the little Fawcett Crest books,
Peanuts Parade books, Holt books, Peanuts Collectors Series, Peanuts Treasury, Peanuts
Classics and Andrews & McMeel books) so that you can tell which books reprint
strips from which years, and which books are merely reprints of other books you already
have.
- Strip collections: This covers all of the books full
of strips.
- Kids' and reference books: This list has
kids storybooks and kids reference books such as the Charlie Brown Dictionary
- Animation adaptations: Many of
the Peanuts TV shows and movies have been turned into books, which you will find
here.
- Prose and picture books: This includes books of
sayings and aphorisms, as well as storybooks not specifically aimed at kids.
- British books: English-language books issued outside the U.S. (mostly Britain) that weren't also released in the U.S.
- U.S translations: Books in foreign languages for the U.S. market
- Cookbooks
- Sheet music books: Books of Peanuts-related music, and sheet
music books illustrated with Peanuts pictures.
- Schulz intros and illos: Charles Schulz has illustrated or provided forewords for
a number of books which he did not write, which you'll find here.
- Schulz's teenager comics: During the late 1950s and early 1960s, Schulz
did a series of cartoon panels for a religious magazine. Books that collect them or reuse the art are found here.
- Essay books: There have been a number of books that use Peanuts
strips to illustrate concepts of religion, psychology, and so on.
- Peanuts history: Historic overview of the development
of Peanuts, and biographies of Schulz.
- Museum exhibition guides: Books sold by museums to accompany Peanuts exhibitions
- Peanuts Comic Book magazines: Comics magazines from the 1950s
and 1960s that reprint Peanuts strips or have brand-new stories.
- Peanuts stuff books: Books with photographs of Peanuts items, including price guides.
- Foreign editions: A short list of some of the non-English foreign
editions that exist... really, just a list of what I have.
- Spanish books: This list includes only Spanish-language books that were published in Spain, from guest-writer Sonia Gil.
